Discover more about the construction phases of Magdalena II, Enel Green Power's first solar project built in the state of Tlaxcala in Mexico. With a total capacity of 220 MW, its bifacial panels will improve the performance of this renewable technology, thus generating even more green energy.
Siemens Gamesa is on hybrids!

Siemens Gamesa is on hybrids!

Hybrid power leverages the advantages of the complementary energy profiles of wind and solar power. Imagine the possibilities by balancing the energy generated by solar during the day with the wind, which is usually stronger at night. Depending on the location and hourly profile, a hybrid system can optimize energy feed-in, grid stability and capacity factor. In addition, customers can save costs and achieve a higher energy production by sharing land, grid infrastructure and maintenance services for the different assets. The hybrid power solution allows for the integration of one or more renewable power generation assets with our tailored energy storage systems – heat or battery storage – adding to the profitability of the project.
Webinar - Senegal & Ivory Coast: Solar Investment Opportunities

Webinar - Senegal & Ivory Coast: Solar Investment Opportunities

18 September 2019

S
In this webinar, SolarPower Europe will present the findings of its market reports on solar investment opportunities in Senegal and Ivory Coast.Senegal is leading the solar PV sector in Sub-Saharan Africa, thanks to over 120 MW installed capacity. As the grid is strengthening and access to electricity remains low, it creates a good opportunity for solar home systems and minigrids. A competitive process, such as Scaling Solar, is a great success and we can anticipate that the country will embrace new solar PV opportunities. Ivory Coast has ambitious plans to develop 400 MW of solar by 2030 and shows strong potential for the development of solar energy, especially in the northern part of the country. Additional solar PV contracts should be awarded on a competitive basis over the next couple of years.Speakers:- Guillaume Charon, Transaction advisor covering natural gas (West Africa) and on-grid (Ivory Coast), Nexant- Jean Jacques Ngono, Managing Partner, Finergreen
Webinar - Unwrapping the Clean Energy Package: Collective self consumption models #2

Webinar - Unwrapping the Clean Energy Package: Collective self consumption models #2

18 September 2019

S
Adopted in 2018 after two years of intense negotiations, the Clean Energy Package recognised the collective self-consumption model for the first time. This model allows different consumers located in the same building, or in the same area, to jointly enter in self-consumption and to share the self-generated electricity; thereby unlocking access to self-consumption for a wide range of consumers. The time is now for unwrapping the Clean Energy Package, as member states need to translate the Renewable Energy Directive into national legislation by the 30th of June 2019. This webinar therefore invites you to take a deep dive into experiences of collective self-consumption frameworks across Europe, map the good and bad practices, and make recommendations for the future of collective self-consumption. Following the first webinar on Germany, Switzerland and Greece, this webinar will explore the experiences of France, Italy and Spain.AGENDA• Welcome participants and introduction to the meeting.Naomi Chevillard, Policy Advisor, SolarPower EuropeGiorgia Concas, General Secretary, European Association for Electrical Installers (AIE)• Experience from Spain.Paula Santos Ortiz, Technical Director, Spanish Solar association (UNEF) Maria Colom, Energy Policy Director, Spanish Solar association (UNEF)• Experience from France.Richard Loyen, General Director, French Solar association (Enerplan)• Experience from ItalyPaolo Rocco Viscontini, President, Italian Solar association (Italia Solare)
