04 Nov | W | Enel Green Power starts construction of 280 MW of new wind capacity in South Africa

  • The two 140 MW facilities, Karusa and Soetwater, are each expected to generate over 585 GWh annually following completion, which is due by the end of 2021
  • Karusa and Soetwater will involve an investment of over 200 million euros each
  • Enel Green Power already operates seven renewable plants in South Africa for an installed capacity of 520 MW and, with Karusa and Soetwater, is now building five wind projects for around 700 MW

15 Oct | W | Enel inaugurates Kafireas, the largest wind facility in Greece

  • Composed of seven wind farms on the island of Evia, the facility has a total installed capacity of over 154 MW and will be able to generate approx. 480 GWh per year
  • Enel’s investment in the project amounted to around 300 million euros
  • With Kafireas, Enel’s installed capacity in Greece will reach more than 460 MW, of which approx. 354 MW from wind, around 90 MW from solar and about 20 MW from hydro

19 Sep | W | Enel Green Power starts construction at 201 MW Kolskaya wind farm, largest renewable project beyond the Arctic Circle

  • The wind facility, owned by Enel Russia, will involve an overall investment of around 273 million euros and is expected to be completed in 2021
  • Enel Russia’s 90 MW Azov wind farm is also under construction, while the 71 MW Rodnikovsky wind project was awarded in June to the company, which is investing approx. 495 million euros in all three facilities
  • The company’s renewable investment in Russia is in line with the Enel Group’s target to fully decarbonise its generation mix by 2050

26 Aug | S | Enel Green Power starts construction of Chile’s largest solar plant

· The 382 MW Campos del Sol PV plant, located in the Atacama Region, will start operations by the end of 2020, generating around 1,160 GWh per year when fully up and running

· The project involves a total investment of around 320 million US dollars
